English Assistant Master in a school where it is ever that
number a salary of £300 to £345 by £15 triennial increments
is not too much and for an English Head Master of a school
with an average attendance of over 200 a salary of £360 to
£450 by triennial increments of £30 seem suitable. Those
salaries vary slightly from those hitherto given but cor-
-respond to those I have proposed fer junior officers in
other Departments and might advantageously be adopted in
future for new appointments to masterships in the Anglo-
Chinese Schools under the Education Department while in
the case of new appointments to junior and senior assist-
-ant masterships the salaries might also be made to conform
to the last two scales.
